Publica: The Nightwalk Carnival

Right to the City, Women’s Night Walks

Publica commissioned me to capture their: Right to the City, Women’s Night Walks. They are an initiative in collaboration with the City of London local community, Ward Councillors, the NLA and the City of London Police. The project seeks to understand women’s experiences of safety after dark, and create inclusive, healthy, and accessible public spaces where women, girls and gender diverse people feel like they belong.

A Performative Reclamation of Space. The women in the workshop designed fictional characters embodying their hopes of how they want to experience public space after dark with María Venegas Rabá. They paraded with their character through the streets, bravely reclaiming the public realm.
